Chimney Collapse at the Homestead

The restoration of the Proudfit Cabin was the vision of Bill Walters.

Unfortunately due to his declining health he was unable to see it to completion

resulting in the loss of this historic cabin to the York County community

and the Proudfit descendants.

The collapse will now most likely result in the demolition of the cabin.

You can see the hole in the center of the roof where the original chimney stood.

  The whole cabin seems to have shifted.
